Dr. Melissa Camouse
Dr. Melissa Camouse is a board-certified dermatologist who provides comprehensive care of skin, hair and nails to patients of all ages. She received her dermatologic training from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. In addition to her residency training, she also completed a research fellowship in cutaneous photobiology at Case Western. There, she focused on the effects of ultraviolet radiation on human skin. She published numerous articles on this subject and researched topical antioxidant serums and sunscreens in conjunction with Neutrogena, Estée Lauder, Clinique, and Origins. Her expertise in these areas has proved to be a valuable asset to practicing dermatology in sunny southern California.
Dr. Camouse has been practicing dermatology in California since 2007. She resides in the South Bay with her husband, Dr. Ke, and three children. A native Midwesterner, Dr. Camouse enjoys the year-round temperate weather and promotes healthy sun habits to protect the skin without compromising a healthy outdoor lifestyle. She is passionate about skin cancer prevention and early detection through patient education and regular skin exams.
Dr. Malcolm Ke
Born and raised in Southern California, Dr. Ke received his medical degree from the Chicago Medical School and completed his internship in general surgery at the University of California, San Francisco East Bay Program. Prior to starting his dermatology residency, he received a National Institutes of Health Research Scientist Award to study cutaneous lymphoma and photodynamic therapy at Case Western Reserve University, where he completed research fellowships in both Investigative and Molecular Dermatology as well as Cutaneous Oncology with an emphasis in melanoma and lymphoma. He then completed his dermatology residency at Case Western Reserve University. A Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology, Dr. Ke also completed a fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery, Lasers, and Cosmetic Dermatology at the University of California, Los Angeles. He is a Fellow in the American College of Mohs Surgery and performs approximately 1500 skin cancer surgical cases annually for the past ten years.
Before moving back to California, Dr. Ke served as the Director of the Skin Surgery, Laser, and Aesthetic Center of Case Western Reserve University. Currently an Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the University of California, Los Angeles, Dr. Ke enjoys volunteering at the VA teaching the principles of Mohs surgery and advanced facial reconstruction to the dermatology residents and fellows.
Dr. Ke also serves on several scientific advisory boards for new cancer and laser therapies and on the editorial board for Dermatologic Surgery, the official publication for the American College of Mohs Surgery, and the Journal of Cosmetic and Laser Therapy, the official publication of the International Society of Cutaneous and Laser Surgery.
Dr. Ke enjoys spending quality time with his family including going to the beach, playing tennis, golf, and guitar, and enjoying good food!
Dr. Jeffrey Hick
Dr. Jeffrey Hick is a board certified dermatologist and micrographic dermatologic (Mohs) surgeon. He received his medical degree from Wake Forest University and completed an internal medicine internship at the University of Utah. He finished his dermatology residency at Los Angeles County/University of Southern California (LAC/USC) where he served as a chief resident during his final year. After completing his residency in 2012, Dr. Hick began practicing medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology in Orange County and the South Bay.
Dr Hick is passionate about skin cancer and finding the best treatment for every patient. His comprehensive approach to skin cancer involves thorough skin examination, skin cancer prevention, and individualized treatment plans based on his patients’ specific medical history and lifestyle. His approach to cosmetic dermatology is the subtle use of injectables to provide natural-looking improvement. Dr. Hick is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society for Mohs Surgery and is a member of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery. Additionally, Dr. Hick is a volunteer Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor of Dermatology at LAC/USC hospital where he teaches surgical skills to dermatology residents.
As an Orange County native and resident, Dr. Hick enjoys sailing, surfing, playing guitar, snowboarding and spending time with his wife Bonnie and their cat, Sylvester.
Dr. Merrick Brodsky
Dr. Brodsky is a distinguished double board-certified and dual fellowship-trained dermatologic surgeon, holding board certifications in dermatology and micrographic dermatologic surgery. His extensive training includes fellowships in Mohs micrographic and reconstructive surgery, dermatologic oncology, facial cosmetic surgery, and cosmetic dermatologic and laser surgery.
Dr. Brodsky’s academic journey began at the University of California, Irvine, where he earned degrees in biological sciences and anthropology. During his time at UCI, he excelled both academically and athletically, playing collegiate rugby and earning honors as a Collegiate All-American Sevens Rugby player. He continued his medical education at the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine, where he was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society.
Dr. Brodsky completed his dermatology residency at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Center, where he developed a passion for dermatologic surgery. He went on to complete two highly esteemed surgical fellowships. At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and The James Cancer Hospital, he trained in Mohs micrographic surgery, dermatologic oncology, and facial reconstructive surgery. His multidisciplinary training involved collaboration with experts in various medical fields, allowing him to master complex procedures, including advanced facial reconstructive surgery.
Further honing his skills, Dr. Brodsky trained under Dr. Cameron Chesnut at Clinic 5C and Chesnut Institute of Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgery. This fellowship provided comprehensive training in cosmetic and reconstructive surgical techniques, including brow lifts, blepharoplasty, face and neck lifts, lip lifts, facial fat transfer, laser surgery, hair transplantation, scar revision, and injectable treatments. Additionally, he gained expertise in regenerative medicine techniques such as platelet-rich plasma, platelet-rich fibrin, and nanofat transfer.
After completing his training, Dr. Brodsky practiced dermatologic surgery in Columbus, Ohio before moving back to Southern California in 2024. He has served as faculty at multiple institutions, including The Ohio State University Medical Center, The James Cancer Hospital, Dayton Skin Care and Cancer Center, and Laser Skin Care Center, where he performed Mohs micrographic and reconstructive surgery and educated resident and fellow physicians. He also continues to contribute to Clinic 5C and Chesnut Institute of Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgery, performing facial cosmetic surgeries and mentoring cosmetic surgery fellows.
Dr. Brodsky is a recognized speaker at national medical conferences and has made significant contributions to medical literature through his research and publications in medical journals and textbooks.
Outside of his professional endeavors, Dr. Brodsky enjoys mountain biking, skiing, surfing, exploring the outdoors, and spending time with his wife, family, and friends.
Dr. Dennis Nguyen
An Orange County native, proud to be serving the community as a Board-certified Dermatologist and Fellowship-trained Mohs Surgeon.
Dr. Nguyen grew up in Anaheim and completed his undergraduate studies at the University of California, Berkeley. Following college, Dr. Nguyen continued his work in the UCSF Melanoma Sentinel Lymph Node Program, in addition to research of autologous melanoma vaccines. He graduated from the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine as a prestigious Regents Scholar in 2004. From there, Dr. Nguyen, completed his dermatology residency at University Hospitals/Case Western in Cleveland before pursuing a Mohs Surgery and Procedural Dermatology fellowship at SUNY Downstate Medical Center.
Upon fellowship graduation in 2009, he joined The Permanente Medial Group and later, the Southern California Permanente Medical Group. In this setting, he was able to practice comprehensive medical dermatology, but also hone his interests in skin cancer and cutaneous oncology. Dr. Nguyen has performed over 10,000 cases of Mohs micrographic surgery and reconstruction during this time, treating all manners of common and rare, complex skin malignancies . His fellowship-training and extensive experience makes him specifically qualified for the meticulous work of skin cancer removal and the art of facial reconstruction.
Dr. Nguyen is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American College of Mohs Surgery, and member of the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery. He reviews articles for publication in the journal Dermatologic Surgery.
Dr. Nguyen enjoys travel, photography, and the foods and rich cultural opportunities that Southern California provides. He enjoys these offerings alongside his wife Alyssa, son Theodore, and their dog Crick.
Erica Brown, PA-C
Erica Brown is a board certified physician assistant and has been working in the medical community since 2001. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biopsychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She then went on to attend USC where she completed her graduate training to receive a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies and her Physician Assistant Certification per NCCPA guidelines. She has been a dermatology Physician Assistant since 2007.
Erica enjoys caring for patients of all ages, and treats medical dermatology conditions such as acne, psoriasis, eczema, rosacea, rashes, warts, and also performs skin exams to screen for skin cancers. She is skilled in performing skin biopsies and cryosurgery, and is experienced in various cosmetic procedures such as Botox and lasers. Erica has been assisting in Mohs surgeries since she first started practicing in dermatology, and has also worked in clinical research. She continues her medical education through attending medical education conferences annually.
Outside of work, Erica enjoys spending quality time with her family, and loves being active and outdoors. She is an avid traveler and likes to keep up with her favorite hobbies such as yoga, running, and beach volleyball.
Summer Liew Nguyen, PA-C
Summer Liew is a certified physician assistant who has been working in dermatology since 2017. She graduated with a Bachelor in Science in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology from the UCLA. She then went on to attend Idaho State University where she completed her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies degree.
Summer enjoys seeing patients for a variety of skin issues including acne, psoriasis, eczema, warts, and skin checks. She is skilled with procedures such as cryosurgery, biopsies, simple excisions, lasers, and Botox.
Summer, along with her husband, are local residents of the South Bay and plan to start their family there. She is excited to be working in Torrance and caring for the community in which she lives. In her free time, she enjoys watching cooking competition shows, sifting through online recipes, and attempting to cook. She also enjoys hiking, camping, and backpacking with her husband and friends.
